Welcome to UMSU Living, a service provided to you by your University of Manitoba Students’ Union. We are here to help you rent, sublet, rideshare, carpool, find a job and buy/sell furniture and from September to April we also sell post secondary monthly transit passes.

Note to all property owners: Be aware when dealing with potential tenants from out of town or overseas. The Government of Canada has documented instances of what is referred to as “cheque overpayment fraud.” In a scam such as this, the potential tenant may agree to pay for a rented property, and send a fraudulent cheque (cashier’s, personal, or even corporate) to the seller. The cheque is for an amount above the agreed upon price, and the seller is promptly asked to deposit the cheque and immediately wire the difference back. By the time the fake cheque has been detected by the bank, the money has already been wired. Be aware when dealing with cheques.
